Welcome to the Cymreig Short Film Showcase, an annual celebration of Welsh filmmaking talent hosted in the heart of Chepstow. Each year, Electric Picture Hall presents an exciting evening of short films that span genres such as comedy, mystery, animation, and documentary. Featuring works written, directed, and performed by emerging Welsh filmmakers, the showcase is a platform for creative voices from across Wales. With a relaxed atmosphere, drinks and snacks available at the bar, and free entry, this event offers an unmissable opportunity to discover fresh talent and support local cinema in a vibrant community setting.
Details are still being worked out for our 2025 event, but we invite any filmmakers to submit their short films for consideration. The only requirement is that the production has a Welsh connection, whether through the cast, crew, or location, and is short (preferably less than 20min).

The inaugural Cymreig Short Film Showcase 2024 was a fantastic success, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and helped make the event so special. We were thrilled to see such a great turnout and to share an evening of incredible Welsh short films with the local community. A huge thank you to the talented filmmakers whose creativity and passion were at the heart of the showcase, and to Chepstow Art Space for generously hosting and supporting this new platform for Welsh cinema. Your enthusiasm and support made the first CSFS a truly memorable night, and we can't wait to see you all again next year!
